9th May saw my first event of the triathlon season with Woodhall Spa sprint triathlon. A quick sprint event to get the season going.
The day was dry for the critical part, and we had 550 starters. Outdoor pool swim was fine, followed by a windy day on the bike, but the legs felt good, just being pipped for the fastest bike split. A fast flat final 5k brought me home to claim 3rd place overall, and winning my age group by several minutes.
Overall a pretty good start to the season, especially since I have been concentrating on the endurance events for the ironman this summer.
